RatRace round 2 Summer Series

Round 2 of the indoor summer series was last weekend, I was driving 4wd on Saturday as well as running the RC Skool students race and helping them, so as per normal busy. I was also going to run 2WD on the Sunday.

I had helped build the track the night before so I knew the layout but had not had any practice on the track so all was new to me, I started the day getting the RC Skool boys ready as this was their last round of the championship. When they were settled I just had time to put my batteries in and join first practice.

Practice went ok so started the qualifying rounds, I ended 3rd on the grid which was ok for the race but not ideal.

First A final I came home in 2nd position so great start, 2nd A-Final not so good and some silly errors made me 3rd, so the last final was crucial to win so I could claw back to 2nd overall, I had a great race and made 1st place to end overall in 2nd place. The winner Kayhan Ketenci had won the race after round 2 and did not join us so obviously this helped but I was 2 laps ahead by the end of the race. Thanks to Kayhan for giving me a suspension arm pin, as without it I would not have raced the last final.

At this race I was trying out the new 4mm chassis as well as the Gear Diff so a lot of testing was needed, also joining me with a mid motor was Kerem and Deniz both for the first time which was nice for all of us to bounce ideas around.

Practice rounds were fantastic and I ended up 3rd qıickest which was great news for me, Deniz was 1st, so of to the quals.

Qualifying did not go so well as I made some silly errors and got hit twice in two of the rounds which happens but very annoying for me. Anyway I ended 7th on the grid for the A-Finals so lots to do.

A-Finals were a bit manic and again being hit from behind and making errors, but I ended up 6th overall which I was happy with for the old  boy.
